Friday: Movie Night
Part of the beauty of renting a furnished apartment is that you can relax and unwind at home. Fire up your new-to-you TV and stream Enter the Dragon, Bruce Lee’s final – and arguably best – film. There are a number of shots of Hong Kong in the movie, including the secluded Tsing Shan Monastery.
After watching the movie you may want to visit the monastery in person sometime soon. In the meantime, have dinner delivered from one of Hong Kong’s outstanding restaurants or make yourself something delicious in your very own kitchen. Need inspiration? Saturday: Sail Away
Boat tours are incredibly popular in Hong Kong, and for good reason! Scenic Victoria Harbour is the third-largest bay in the world, and there is no better way to see it than on a leisurely cruise.
You can take a half-day boat tour of the city or wait until after dark for a harbor lights cruise. There are also specialty excursions you can book, including dim-sum cruises and boat tours to secluded beauty spots.
Sunday: A Dose of History
Situated in Hong Kong’s Kowloon district, the stately Hong Kong Museum of History is a perfect introduction to your new hometown.
The museum’s permanent collection includes some stunning artworks and artifacts, as well as stunning reconstructions of historical settings. Some of the exhibits are highly interactive, and there’s even a full-sized fishing junk on display.
It’s best to arrive early, since the museum is limiting a smaller number of visitors at a time due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
